Oak Park man pleads guilty as charged, Prosecutor’s Office objects to Cobbs agreement on sentence
Mount Clemens, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 24-year-old Keshawn Webster, of Oak Park, Michigan, pleaded guilty as charged to eight felony offenses stemming from a shooting at a Shelby Township mobile home park in December 2025.
It is alleged that on Friday, December 26, 2025, Webster fired multiple shots from a handgun into an occupied mobile home. The individuals inside were not injured. It is alleged that Webster had a dispute with one of the occupants of the mobile home.
On Thursday, July 16, 2026, at a pretrial hearing, Webster pleaded guilty before Judge Richard L. Caretti of the Macomb County Circuit Court to the following charges:
- Two Counts: Assault with Intent to Murder, punishable by life imprisonment or any term of years
- One Count: Discharge of a Firearm from a Vehicle, a 10-year felony
- One Count: Discharge of a Firearm at or in a Building, a 10-year felony
- Four Counts: Felony-Firearm, each carrying a mandatory consecutive two-year prison sentence
These are the maximum charges supported by the evidence presented to date.
Over the objection of Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Anthony Sorentino, the Court accepted the defendant's guilty plea pursuant to a Cobbs agreement providing for a two-year prison sentence.
"Our responsibility is to seek justice on behalf of the people of Macomb County and to give victims a meaningful voice in the criminal justice process. We objected to the Cobbs evaluation because we believe the facts of this case warranted a different outcome, and we will continue to advocate for the victims as this case proceeds to sentencing," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the People. We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
