Mount Clemens woman sentenced on charges related to shooting of her father

Press Release

Mount Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 21-year-old Cheyenne Randolph of Mt. Clemens, MI was sentenced after pleading guilty to charges related to the non-fatal shooting of her father.

On Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, Randolph was sentenced on charges of Assault with Intent to do Great Bodily Harm and Felony Firearm before Judge James M. Maceroni at the Macomb County Circuit Court in Mt. Clemens, MI.

Judge Maceroni sentenced Randolph to 24-months probation and assigned her Holmes Youthful Trainee Status (HYTA). As conditions of her probation, she can have no contact with the victim, consume no drugs or alcohol and must maintain employment. In addition, Judge Maceroni ordered Randolph to attend a cognitive restructuring program, counseling, and obtain her GED. These conditions to probation must be met. In the event she fails to comply with the conditions, her HYTA may be terminated and she may be resentenced. If she successfully completes probation, under the terms of HYTA, there will be no record of conviction.

On February 23, 2024, Randolph, who was 20-years old at the time, got into an argument with her father. As the situation became more heated, Randolph produced a gun and shot at him four times. He was stuck twice, neither of which were life threatening.

“I do not take lightly the circumstances that brought her here, but in addition to seeking justice, my office believes in rehabilitation. Her sentencing under HYTA is a privilege—one that she now has the responsibility to honor. I certainly hope she successfully completes the terms of her probation,” said Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
