Manchester, Michigan man arraigned on 4 felonies related to alleged attempt to meet up with minor for sex

Mount Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Justin Weiland, 34, of Manchester, Michigan, has been arraigned on multiple felony charges stemming from his alleged attempt to meet a juvenile girl for a sexual encounter.

On Wednesday, July 29, 2026, Warren Police were dispatched to a residence after being contacted by a private child predator investigation group. It is alleged that Weiland was communicating with whom he believed was a 14-year-old female and went to the location to engage in a sexual encounter with her. The female was, in fact, a decoy. 

On Friday, July 31, 2026, Weiland was arraigned before Judge John M. Chmura of the 37th District Court in Warren, Michigan. Weiland is charged with the following offenses:

• Child Sexually Abuse Activity, a 20-year felony
• Computers – Internet – Communicating with Another to Commit Crime - Maximum Imprisonment Of 15 Years Or More Or Life, a 20-year felony
• Computers – Internet – Communicating with Another to Commit Crime - Maximum Imprisonment Of 4 Years Or More But Less Than 10 years, a 10-year felony
• Children – Accosting for Immoral Purposes, a 4-year felony.

These are the maximum criminal charges available based upon the evidence presented to date.

“Prosecuting crimes against children is one of the most important duties my office has. We remain committed to protecting children and holding offenders accountable,” stated Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

Judge Chmura set Weiland’s bond at $75,000 cash or surety only, no 10%, GPS tether if released, and ordered to have no contact with minors. 

Weiland is scheduled to appear at a Probable Cause Conference before Judge Suzanne Faunce at the 37th District Court on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 8:45 a.m.
