Mt. Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 33-year-old Noor Noel Kestou was bound over to circuit court to face a charge of Involuntary Manslaughter, a 15-year felony, in connection to a Clinton Township building fire, canister explosion and death of 19-year-old Turner Salter of Clinton Township. It is alleged that on Monday, March 4, 2024, a building owned and operated by Kestou caught fire with thousands of nitrous oxide and butane canisters stored in the building. One of the nitrous oxide canisters exploded and struck Salter in the head, killing him.
On Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at the fourth scheduled day of Kestou’s Preliminary Exam, 41-B District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido ruled that there is enough evidence to move forward with a trial on an Involuntary Manslaughter charge. Kestou’s Preliminary Exam was conducted by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Carmen DeFranco.
Noor’s next court date will be an arraignment before Judge Michael E. Servitto on Nov. 3, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in the Macomb County Circuit Court, Mount Clemens, MI.

The court’s decision to bind this defendant over on an involuntary manslaughter charge reflects the seriousness of the evidence gathered to date.
