MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office will host two free Telephone Town Halls in July, providing residents with direct access to information and experts on child support services and senior fraud prevention. Participants can speak with the prosecutor from the comfort of their own homes and get the information they need.
The first event, Back-to-School Child Support Telephone Town Hall: "What Both Parents Need to Know," will take place on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Prosecutor Lucido and Kymberly Shinneman, Chief of the Family Division, will discuss how to start a child support case, collect support, and help parents who are behind on payments get back on track. Participants can ask questions and get answers!
The Telephone Town Hall, SCAMS – Stopping Crimes Against Macomb Seniors, will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. Prosecutor Lucido will discuss empowering seniors, their families, and guardians with crucial knowledge to prevent scams and safeguard against exploitation. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask Prosecutor Lucido questions during the live event.
These free events are open to all Macomb County residents. Participants must register through the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office website to ensure they receive a call: www.macombgov.org/departments/prosecutors-office.
The Prosecutor’s Office will place calls to approximately 300,000 Macomb County residents beginning around 6:15 p.m. on the day of the event. Residents should answer the call from Macomb County Prosecutor's Office (586) 493-4990 to join the live Town Hall.
For the first time, Telephone Town Halls will also be streamed live on Facebook, allowing residents to watch and participate online. Residents are encouraged to follow Macomb County Prosecutor on Facebook for access to the events.
A second Child Support Telephone Town Hall is scheduled for Thursday, August 20, 2026, and two additional SCAMS Telephone Town Halls are scheduled for Wednesday, August 26, 2026, and Wednesday, September 9, 2026. All will begin at 6:30 p.m. Residents must register through the Prosecutor’s Office website to ensure they receive a call to participate in the Telephone Town Halls.
