Macomb County, MI — Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido is proud to announce that Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Dale VandeVrede was awarded the prestigious Kimberly M. Cahill Civility Award, recognizing exemplary professionalism, integrity, and respect within the legal profession.
The Kimberly M. Cahill Civility Award is presented by the Macomb County Bar Association to a legal professional who demonstrates outstanding commitment to respectful dialogue and conduct. Criteria include fostering professionalism with opposing counsel, encouraging clients toward meritorious positions, avoiding inflammatory or retaliatory behavior, mentoring emerging attorneys, promoting inclusivity across the profession, and maintaining respect for the bench and bar.
VandeVrede, who serves as Chief of the Drug Unit, was selected for his consistent embodiment of these principles. Known for balancing assertive prosecution with professionalism and courtesy, he has earned the respect of colleagues, judges, and the broader legal community.

In addition to his courtroom work, VandeVrede is recognized for mentoring newer attorneys and fostering a collaborative, respectful work environment.
