Mount Clemens, MI - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Jeremiah Collins, a 15-year-old Roseville juvenile, waived his Preliminary Exam and was bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court on multiple charges stemming from an alleged carjacking that occurred in the parking lot of an Applebee’s restaurant in Roseville, MI, on November 24, 2025.
On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, a Probable Cause Conference was held before Judge Joseph Boedecker in the 39th District Court in Roseville, MI. At that hearing, Collins waived his right to a Preliminary Exam and was bound over to the Macomb County Circuit Court. He will be arraigned before Judge James M. Biernat, Jr. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
Collins is facing the following charges:
- Carjacking, a life or any term of years felony
- Police Officer – Fleeing – Third-Degree, a 5-year felony
- Two Counts – Malicious Destruction of Personal Property - $1,000 but less than $20,000, each a 5-year felony
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, a 4-year felony
- Police Officer – Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing, a 2-year felony
- Operating – No License, a 90-day misdemeanor

Collins is in custody at the Macomb County Juvenile Justice Center under a $250,000 cash/surety bond with standard conditions. If Collins posts bond, he must be fitted with a GPS tether, be restricted to his mother’s home, not be arrested, and have no contact with the complaining victims, witnesses, or Applebee’s.
It is alleged that on November 24, 2025, Collins forcibly took a woman’s 2016 Jeep Patriot in the Applebee’s parking lot. The victim immediately contacted the Roseville Police Department, prompting officers to pursue the stolen vehicle. Collins allegedly continued fleeing until he crashed the Jeep on Gratiot.

Lucido.
