Former Fitzgerald Public Schools Superintendent pleads to possessing a weapon in a weapons-free school zone

Press Release

Mt. Clemens, MI –Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that former Fitzgerald Public Schools Superintendent Hollie Stange pled guilty to possessing a weapon in a weapons-free school zone.

On Thursday, November 20, 2025, at a Pre-Trial Conference, 39-year-old Stange of Redford, Michigan, pleaded guilty to possessing a weapon in a school zone, a 93-day misdemeanor. Under the terms of a plea agreement, the case will be dismissed upon Stange’s successful completion of the 11-month advisement period pursuant to statute. She is also required to forfeit the firearm.

“It is deeply unfortunate that a school superintendent, someone entrusted with setting the standard for safety and leadership, would bring a weapon onto school grounds. In this community, we are all working tirelessly to prevent violence and ensure our schools remain secure. Her actions fell short of the example every educator and leader should uphold,” stated Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
