Estranged husband arraigned on charge of First-Degree Murder

Mt. Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that a Utica, MI man has been charged with First-Degree Premeditated Murder related to a stabbing incident that occurred at the Meijer gas station in Shelby Township. 

It is alleged that on Sunday, Sept. 21, 2025, 25-year-old Sidney Emmanuel Davis Jr. beat and repeatedly stabbed Fatme Davis, his 23-year-old estranged wife, inside the Meijer gas station at 15031 Hall Road, Shelby Township, MI. Fatme Davis was transported to a local hospital where she died. Sidney Davis fled the scene. He was later discovered in Armada Township with a severe laceration on his hand. He was arrested and transported to a hospital for treatment.

The child of Fatme Davis and Sidney Davis was in his mother’s car at the gas station for a safe custody exchange. The child is safe with his paternal grandmother. 

On Wednesday, September 24, 2025, Davis was arraigned in the 41A District Court in Shelby Township, MI before Judge Christopher Alayan. Davis was charged with Homicide – Murder - First-Degree - Premeditated, a life without parole felony.

Judge Alayan denied bond. Davis is scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. and a Preliminary Exam on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the 41A District Court in Shelby Township, both before Judge Stephen S. Sierawski.

Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated, “The allegations in this case are both shocking and deeply disturbing. A young mother was allegedly killed at the hands of her estranged husband, while their child sat waiting in the car. Our office is committed to pursuing this case to the fullest extent of the law to ensure justice is served.”
