Mount Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 19-year-old Breann Greer, of Eastpointe, MI, was arraigned on felony charges after allegedly trying to impede a criminal investigation.
It is alleged that on Sunday, March 15, 2026, a man contacted Eastpointe Police to report that he had been assaulted inside a residence in Eastpointe, later identified as Greer’s home. He stated he was hit on the head and knocked unconscious. When he awoke, an assailant pointed a gun at him and took his phone, car keys, and cash. It is alleged the assailant also stole the victim’s vehicle.
Eastpointe Police subsequently executed a search warrant at the residence. It is further alleged that Greer engaged in actions intended to conceal evidence and hinder the investigation.
During the investigation, authorities identified Miguel Fernandez as the man believed to be the armed assailant. On Monday, March 16, 2026, Fernandez was allegedly fleeing from Eastpointe Police and shot himself after crashing his car in Hazel Park.
On Wednesday, March 18, 2026, Greer was arraigned before Magistrate Mark Makowski in the 38th District Court in Eastpointe, MI. Greer is charged with the following:
- Tampering with Evidence – Criminal Case Punishable by More than 10 Years, a 10-year felony
- Accessory After the Fact to a Felony, a 5-year felony
- Lying to a Peace Officer – Violent Crime Investigation, a 4-year felony
These are the maximum charges available under the law based on the evidence presented to date.
Magistrate Makowski set Greer’s bond at $50,000 cash/surety only, no 10%.
Greer is scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, and a Preliminary Exam on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, both at 1:00 p.m. before Judge Kathleen G. Galen at the 38th District Court.
“It appears an initial poor decision was compounded by subsequent ones. This young woman is alleged to have become involved in a situation she did not initiate; however, it is also alleged that her own actions made matters worse,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
