Mt. Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Jasan Delanta Martin, a 32-year-old Eastpointe man, has been arraigned on multiple charges relating to the alleged attempted murder of prominent businessman Eddie Jawad at his home in Macomb Township.
It is alleged that in the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, Martin parked his vehicle on a side street near the home of Jawad. Martin walked through a neighbor’s backyard, scaled a wall, entered Jawad’s property and concealed himself underneath a vehicle parked in Jawad’s driveway. Jawad drove out of his garage and Martin came out from his hiding place. Martin fired multiple gunshots as Jawad drove past him, striking him in the leg. Martin fled on foot, retracing his route back to his vehicle before driving away at a high rate of speed.
On Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, Martin was arraigned before Judge Stephen S. Sierawski in the 41A District Court in Shelby Township, MI on the following charges:
COUNT 1: Assault with Intent To Murder, a life or any term of years felony
COUNT 2: Weapons Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony, consecutive to main charge
COUNT 3: Weapons - Firearms - Possession By Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony
COUNT 4: Weapons Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony, consecutive to main charge
COUNT 5: Weapons - Dangerous Weapon - Carrying With Unlawful Intent, a 5-year felony
COUNT 6: Weapons Felony Firearm, a 2-year felony, consecutive to main charge
- Martin also has a Habitual Offender - Fourth Offense Notice, subjecting him to life in prison if convicted of any of the primary felonies.
Judge Sierawski set Martin’s bond at $1,000,000 cash/surety. If he is able to post bond, upon release he must wear a GPS tether. In addition, Martin may have no contact with the alleged victim, Eddie Jawad. Martin is in custody at the Macomb County Jail.
Martin is scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference on Monday, Nov. 3, 2025, and a Preliminary Exam on Monday, Nov. 10, 2025, both at 9 a.m., before Judge Sierawski at the 41A District Court in Shelby Township, MI.
Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated, “While the investigation into this matter is still ongoing, I would like to commend law enforcement on the team effort used to apprehend Jasan Martin and bring him to justice. The allegations against Martin are both shocking and appalling. The idea that someone would attempt to kill a man in his own driveway, in broad daylight, is beyond comprehension. As Macomb County Prosecutor, I take my duties with the highest seriousness, and my office will prosecute this case with the full force and gravity it deserves.”
