Eastpointe man arraigned after allegedly making threats at elementary school

Press Release

Mt. Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 43-year-old David Scott, Jr. was arraigned on multiple charges after an incident yesterday at Pleasantview Elementary School in Eastpointe, MI.

It is alleged that on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Scott arrived at Pleasantview Elementary at dismissal and became upset that his child did not receive a snack at snack time. He confronted the child’s teacher, made threats and said he would be back the next day. A search warrant was issued to search his residence where multiple rounds of ammunition were found.

On Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, Scott was arraigned before Judge Kathleen G. Galen in the 38th District Court in Eastpointe, MI on the following charges:

  1. Weapons – Ammunition – Possession by a Prohibited Person, a 5-year felony
  2. Schools – Intentional Threat to Commit Act of Violence Against School, School Employees, or Students, a 1-year misdemeanor
  3. Disorderly Person – Obscene Conduct, a 90-day misdemeanor

Scott also has a Habitual Offender - Fourth Offense Notice, an aggravating sentencing factor.

Judge Galen set Scott’s bond at $150,000 cash or surety, no 10% and ordered a mental health evaluation. If he posts bond, upon release, he must wear a GPS steel-cuff tether, not leave the State of Michigan, not consume non-prescription drugs or alcohol, and have no contact with the school, employees or complaining witness.

Scott is scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, and a Preliminary Exam on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2025, both at 1 p.m., before Judge Galen at the 38th District Court in Eastpointe, MI.

“There is absolutely no excuse for threatening violence against a school or its staff—especially over something as minor as a classroom snack,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. “Our office takes all threats to schools seriously, and we will continue to pursue charges to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and our community.”
