Mt. Clemens, MI –Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that Mark McCracken, a 34-year-old resident of Clinton Township, and Derek Harrison, a 36-year-old man from Roseville, were arraigned on charges after the two allegedly tried to undermine a DNA paternity test.
It is alleged McCracken and Harrison organized to have Harrison impersonate McCracken’s identity in a court ordered DNA paternity test. On Sept. 12, 2025, Harrison allegedly signed in at the Macomb County Administration Building as McCracken and subsequently submitted his DNA representing himself as McCracken.
On Monday, December 1, 2025, Harrison was arraigned, and on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, McCracken was arraigned on charges of Tampering with Evidence, a 4-year felony, before Magistrate Ryan Zemke at the 41B District Court in Clinton Township, MI. Both defendants have Habitual Offender Fourth Offense Notices, an aggravating sentencing factor that could result in a prison sentence of up to 15 years if convicted on the underlying charge. Both men are in custody at the Macomb County Jail.
“The allegations in this matter are truly outrageous. As many know, Macomb County takes matters of child support extremely seriously, and this case will receive the full attention it warrants,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
