Clinton Township man pleads no contest in three separate armed robbery cases

Mount Clemens, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 48-year-old Anthony Patterson, of Clinton Township, pleaded no contest to charges arising from three separate armed robberies in early December 2025. The resolution of these cases includes restitution for the victims. 

On Thursday, August 6, 2026, Patterson appeared before Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew P. Sabaugh for a Pretrial Hearing on three pending cases. The People were represented at this hearing by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Paige Boll. 

In the first case, Patterson faced charges stemming from a December 4, 2025, armed robbery of three employees at a Wendy’s restaurant on Gratiot in Clinton Township, Michigan. The manager was also forced to surrender money from the safe.

In this matter, Patterson pleaded no contest to two counts of Armed Robbery, two counts of Felony Firearm, Weapons – Firearms Possession by a Prohibited Person, and Habitual Offender – Third Offense Notice.

In the second case, on December 5, 2025, Patterson entered Starlight Nails in Eastpointe. Patterson displayed a handgun and robbed each employee and customer of their money and took a driver’s license and a debit card. 

On this case, Patterson pled no contest to four counts of Armed Robbery, four counts of Felony Firearm, and Habitual Offender – Third Offense Notice.

In the third case, on December 12, 2025, Patterson committed an armed robbery at Advance America on Harper in St. Clair Shores, MI. Patterson took money from cash drawers and a cash box. 

In this final case, Patterson plead no contest as charged to two counts of Armed Robbery, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault), three counts of Felony Firearm, and Habitual Offender – Third Offense Notice.

“Armed robbery is a serious violent crime that threatens public safety and undermines the sense of security every member of our community deserves. This plea is an important step toward holding the defendant accountable. My office will continue to uphold the rule of law, seek justice for victims, and work to protect the people of Macomb County," stated Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew P. Sabaugh accepted a sentencing evaluation from Patterson to cap the minimum sentence to 20 years. The Prosecutor’s Office is not part of the sentencing agreement. The sentence on each case will run concurrently. 

Patterson is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Sabaugh on Thursday, September 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
