Clinton Township man bound over on charge of Assault with Intent to Murder

Mount Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 66-year-old Kurt Studing was bound over to stand trial on all charges related to an alleged assault on his Clinton Township neighbors in September 2025.

On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, Studing’s Preliminary Exam was held before Judge Carrie Lynn Fuca in the 41B District Court in Clinton Township, MI. At the end of the hearing, Judge Fuca ruled that sufficient evidence exists to bind Studing over for trial on all counts. Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Danielle Strace represented the People. 

Studing is charged with the following:

  • Assault with Intent to Murder, a life or any term of years felony
  • Assault or Assault and Battery, a 93-day misdemeanor.

Studing will be arraigned in the Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens, MI on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. 

It is alleged that on Saturday, September 6, 2025, Kurt Studing assaulted his 75-year-old neighbor and his 67-year-old wife. The neighbor was cutting his grass when Studing pulled him off the mower and began kicking and punching him. His wife tried to intervene but she was pushed to the ground several times. A neighbor witnessed the assault and called the police. The man required hospitalization and his wife needed medical attention.
