Mount Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 46-year-old Jevonn Green, of Chesterfield Township, MI, was arraigned on serious felony charges in connection with his alleged assault upon his girlfriend’s brother.
It is alleged that on Sunday, March 29, 2026, Green came home to the residence shared by him, his girlfriend and her brother, 61-year-old James Miller. Miller was sleeping on the couch. Green allegedly hit Miller on the head several times with a weightlifting bar. He then woke up his girlfriend, who was sleeping in another room, and told her to call 911 for her brother. Miller remains hospitalized. He is in critical condition with a decompressed skull fracture and a brain bleed.
On Thursday, April 2, 2026, Green was arraigned before Magistrate Scott K. Ausilio in the 42-2 District Court in New Baltimore, MI. Green was arraigned on the following charges:
- Assault with Intent to Murder, a life or any term of years felony
- Domestic Violence – Aggravated- Second Offense Notice, a 5-year felony
- Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, a 4-year felony
- Habitual Offender – Fourth Offense Notice, an aggravating sentencing factor requiring mandatory imprisonment of no less than 25 years and up to life, if convicted of any of the charged felonies
Magistrate Ausilio set Green’s bond at $250,000 cash/surety, no 10%. If released, he must wear a GPS tether and submit to drug testing three times weekly. In addition, he cannot return to the residence where the alleged assault occurred nor may he consume any alcohol or drugs.
The court granted defense counsel’s request for Green to have a psychiatric evaluation at the Macomb County Jail.
Green is scheduled to appear before Judge William H. Hackel, III, at the 42-2 District Court for a Probable Cause Conference on Thursday, April 16, 2026, and a Preliminary Exam on Thursday, April 23, 2026, both at 9:00 a.m.
