Mt. Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that criminal charges were brought against the woman who crashed her car into a Center Line home injuring a young girl while she was in her bedroom.
It is alleged that on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 2:55 am, 20-year-old Caris Adell Wade, of Detroit, was willfully, wantonly, and recklessly driving her vehicle. As a result of her driving, Wade crashed her vehicle directly into the bedroom of a Center Line residence. In the bedroom sleeping was a 9-year-old girl and her 22-month-old sister. The 9-year-old suffered serious bodily injuries, fortunately, the 22-month-old was unharmed. After crashing into the home, Wade then fled the scene on foot but was later apprehended by the quick footed Warren Police Department. Toxicology results to determine if Wade was under the influence are pending.
In the meantime, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, Wade was arraigned in the 37th District Court in Centerline, MI before Judge Michael C. Chupa. Wade was arraigned on the following charges:
Count 1 Reckless Driving Causing Serious Impairment Of A Body Function, a 5-year felony
Count 2 Failure To Stop At Scene Of Accident Resulting In Serious Impairment Or Death, a 5-year felony
Future charges based on the pending toxicology result may be brought against Wade.
Judge Chupa set Wades’s bond at $200,000 cash/surety. If released, she must wear a GPS and alcohol tether.
Wade is scheduled for a Probable Cause Conference before Judge John Chmura at the 37th District Court in Centerline, MI on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025, and a Preliminary Exam on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025, both at 8:45a a.m.

Reckless driving, or drunk driving, crashing into residences and then fleeing from law enforcement will not be tolerated in Macomb County! We are committed to pursuing justice swiftly for this family and to the full extent of the law without exception.”
