Charge escalated, Warren woman bound over on First Degree Murder charge

Mount Clemens, Mich. – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced 32-year-old Moriah Dandrade, of Warren, Michigan, was bound over on an escalated charge of First-Degree Premeditated Murder related to the death of her husband.

It is alleged that in the early morning hours of January 27, 2026, Dandrade murdered her 31-year-old husband.  Responding Warren police found the deceased man and Dandrade in the home they shared.   

On Friday, August 21, 2026, Dandrade’s Preliminary Exam was held before Judge Michael Chupa in the 37th District Court in Warren, Michigan. At the conclusion of the exam, Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Elizabeth Abbo and Erica Hardy argued that the charge of Murder – Second-Degree, a felony punishable by life or any term of years should be escalated to Murder – First Degree, a felony punishable by life without parole. Judge Chupa agreed and bound Dandrade over on the amended charge. Dandrade was also bound over on a count of Tampering with Evidence in a Criminal Case Punishable by More than 10 years, a felony punishable by 10 years.

Dandrade remains lodged in the Macomb County Jail with a $500,000 cash/surety bond. 

“Domestic violence can escalate into devastating and deadly circumstances, and these allegations underscore the serious consequences that can result. While the charges in this case will be decided in court, our office will continue to pursue justice and accountability when violence occurs within a home. Dandrade is scheduled to be arraigned before Judge Joseph Toia in the Macomb County Circuit Court on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
