Canton woman pleads no contest to running over then-husband with car, domestic violence

Press Release

Mount Clemens, MI – Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido announced that 39-year-old Alaina Fain pled no contest to charges of assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence stemming from a June 13, 2025, incident when Fain drove her GMC Acadia over her then-husband in a parking lot in Warren, MI.

On Monday, March 9, 2026, Fain, of Canton, MI, pled no contest before Judge James M. Biernat, Jr. during a Pre-Trial Hearing in the Macomb County Circuit Court in Mount Clemens, MI to the following charges:

  • Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault), a 4-year felony
  • Domestic Violence, a 93-day felony

Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Megan McKeon represented The People at hearing.

Fain is scheduled to be sentenced before Judge Biernat on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.

“Violence is never the answer to conflict—especially in domestic relationships. When someone chooses violence, they are not just harming another person, they are breaking the law. Our community depends on respect for the rule of law, and my office will continue to pursue accountability for those who resort to violence instead of resolving their disputes in a lawful and responsible way,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido stated.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the People. We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All individuals who are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
