Macomb Man Arraigned for Stealing Ammunition

Macomb Man Arraigned for Stealing Ammunition

Mount Clemens, MI -  A 26-year-old Macomb man was arraigned in connection with stealing bullets at a Chesterfield Twp. Dunham’s store.

It is alleged that on Monday, June 10, 2024, Erik Bronowski stole over $700 worth of ammunition from a Dunham’s store without attempting to purchase it.  Bronowski fled from a Dunham’s employee damaging an emergency exit.

Erik Bronowski was charged with Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person, a five year felony, Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing a Police Office, a two year felony, Second Degree Retail Fraud, a one year misdemeanor and Malicious Destruction of a Building $200 but less than $1,000, a one year misdemeanor.  Bronowski is also being charged as a habitual fourth offender.

Bronowski was arraigned in 42-2 New Baltimore District Court by Magistrate Joseph Plawecki where bond was set at $10,000 cash/surety.  A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 9:00 am by District Court Judge William Hackel III.

“We take offenses involving ammunition very seriously, especially when the individual in question is legally prohibited from possessing it. This theft not only violated the law but also posed a potential risk to public safety, said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
