Mount Clemens, MI -  Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido urges seniors to stay vigilant against scams. To protect seniors, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office and Chase Bank are co-hosting two free countywide events to promote the safety of Macomb County seniors from SCAMS.

Join Prosecutor Lucido and Chase Bank on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Macomb Community College for these two events.  The first presentation will be held at Macomb Community College South Campus located at 14500 E. 12 Mile Road in Warren in K Building, Room 301 from 10:30am-12:00pm.  Our second event will be at Macomb Community College Center Campus from 5:30pm-7:00pm located at 49301 University Dr. in Clinton Township, in the University Center Assembly Hall.

At these events, Prosecutor Lucido will be handing out his free informational booklet titled “S.C.A.M.S. Stopping Crimes Against Macomb Seniors” to enhance senior safety and take proactive measures in assisting the elderly in Macomb County. This booklet contains details on scams targeting seniors, such as identity theft, telemarketing fraud, internet fraud, home improvement fraud, and caregiver fraud. Prosecutor Lucido and Chase Bank will also be discussing recent financial SCAMS and how we are working together to protect you and your loved ones from fraud SCAMS as you age.  Scammers are creative, sneaky, and cunning and at these events you will learn what to watch out for.

"Protecting our seniors from scams is a top priority," said Prosecutor Lucido. "We are committed to providing them with the resources and knowledge they need to stay safe and avoid becoming victims of fraud."

Thank you to Macomb Community College, CHASE Bank and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority for making this event possible.  No reservations are needed. This is a free event for Macomb County residents and refreshments will be provided. If you have any questions please contact Heather Esposito at (586) 469-5642 or heather.esposito@macombgov.org.
