Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office to Host Crime Victim Resource Symposium
Mount Clemens, MI – The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Crime Victim Rights Unit is proud to present "Kinship, Connecting, and Healing for Crime Victims: A Community Resource Symposium,” a special event designed to provide essential support and resources to crime survivors. This free symposium will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Mount Clemens Public Library, located at 150 Cass Ave., Mount Clemens, MI 48043.
The symposium aims to empower crime survivors by providing insight into the criminal justice system and the various support services available to them. This event will not only serve as a vital resource for survivors and their loved ones, but it will also provide important information to all members of the community.
"We recognize the challenges faced by crime survivors and the importance of providing them with comprehensive support," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. "Through this event, we aim to shed light on the court system, and services available, and instill hope in those who have been affected by crime."
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts from the Macomb County Prosecutor's Office, including a Crime Victim Advocate and an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney. Representatives from local support organizations such as Turning Point and CareHouse will also be present to provide guidance on navigating the aftermath of crime. Additionally, members of the Macomb County Sheriff's Office and the Macomb County judiciary will be in attendance to offer their support and expertise.
The event will feature informative discussions on crucial topics, including:
- Victims' rights and available support services
- Understanding the legal process
- Strategies for coping and healing after victimization
- How loved ones can provide support to crime survivors
A complimentary lunch will be provided, fostering a supportive environment where attendees can connect with professionals and peers. No registration is required to attend.
