Mount Clemens, MI - Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido is committed to helping seniors protect themselves from scams by providing vital information and resources. At today’s well-attended Senior Expo in Washington Township, Prosecutor Lucido connected with participants, answered questions, and handed out valuable S.C.A.M.S., "Stopping Crimes Against Macomb Seniors" booklets. These booklets include a detailed guide to common scams aimed at seniors, including identity theft, telemarketing fraud, internet scams, home improvement fraud, and caregiver fraud.
"Seniors are often targeted by scammers, and it's our responsibility to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to protect themselves. Through these events our SCAMS initiative aims to empower our seniors with the tools they need to stay safe,” Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido
In addition to distributing the booklets, Prosecutor Lucido conducts Senior SCAMS presentations throughout Macomb County. These sessions also provide the S.C.A.M.S. booklets, highlight the latest scams and include discussion and questions. To schedule a presentation for your group or organization, please contact Heather Esposito at (586) 469-5642 or heather.esposito@macombgov.org.
