Mount Clemens, MI - Jeffrey Rapier, age 51, has been arraigned for failing to pay child support on his minor child.

On Monday, May 24, 2010, Jeffrey Rapier was ordered by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Switalski to pay $729.00 a month in child support for his minor child.  His last payment was in October of 2021.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Rapier with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four year felony, after the Macomb County Friend of the Court exhausted their efforts to enforce the court order of paying child support. Rapier has had 16 show cause hearings and two bench warrants.

Jeffrey Rapier was arraigned on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 in 41B District Court by Magistrate Ryan Zemke who set bond at $3,737.00.  Rapier still owes over $28,000 in back child support.  A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 1:00 pm by District Court Judge Carrie Fuca.

“Failing to provide financial support for one's own child is not only a legal offense but a moral failing. This individual has allegedly neglected his responsibility, leaving his minor child without the support they rightfully deserve," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
