Harrison Twp. Woman Arraigned for Allegedly Assaulting a Police Officer Following Car Crash
Mount Clemens, MI - A 27-year old woman was arraigned in connection with assaulting a police officer after a vehicle crash.
On Saturday, December 21, 2024 Warren Police Officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a Ford Escape and Chevy Silverado at Mound Rd. and Chicago Rd. An officer approached the Ford Escape which was unoccupied. A woman was seen on the sidewalk near the accident. Witnesses stated the woman, Diamond Leann Glenn, was the driver of the Ford Escape and was allegedly drunk. An officer approached Glenn to look for injuries and to receive medical attention from the Warren Fire Department. Glenn bit and resisted the officer. Glenn was then handcuffed and taken to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Chevy Silverado, 69-year-old Christopher Andelean, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
Glenn was charged with Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer, a two year felony. Further charges may be forthcoming pending the conclusion of the Warren Police Department’s investigation. Glenn was arraigned in 37th Warren District Court where visiting Judge David Draper set bond at $100,000 cash only and if released she must wear an alcohol tether.
A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, January 2, 2024 at 8:45am and a Preliminary Exam is scheduled for Thursday, January 9, 2024 by Warren District Court Judge Steve Bieda.
"This charge reflects the actions by the defendant towards officers after the car crash. Our office is committed to a thorough review of all evidence, and additional charges may be authorized after the Warren Police Department finishes their investigation," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
