Mount Clemens, MI - Brandon Lee, 55, has been arraigned on charges of failing to pay child support for his minor child.

On Thursday, September 6, 2007, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Tracey Yokich ordered Lee to pay $234.00 per month in child support. Since then, the amount has been modified multiple times. Lee now allegedly owes $19,965.83 in overdue child support.

After exhausting all enforcement efforts, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged Lee with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four-year felony. Lee has previously faced three show cause hearings and had two bench warrants issued against him in this matter.

On Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Lee was arraigned in the 41B District Court in Clinton Township by Magistrate Ryan Zemke, who set bond at $4,991.00. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at 8:30 a.m., before District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido.

"Ensuring parents meet their legal responsibilities to support their children is essential to the wellbeing of the child and to upholding the integrity of our family court system. In this case, after numerous attempts to enforce the child support order, prosecution became a necessary step to address the outstanding debt. We remain committed to pursuing justice for the child involved and to supporting families by holding individuals accountable under the law," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Family Division handles felony nonsupport cases when a noncustodial parent owes over $5,000 in child support. To qualify for review, the case must involve an arrearage of $5,000 or more, failure to pay for three consecutive months, and the ability of the noncustodial parent to pay. The goal is to ensure children receive financial support from both parents and uphold justice. To start a child support case, call the Office of Child Support at (866) 540-0008, or if owe more than $5,000, contact the Family Division at (586) 493-4488.
