Former Clinton Township Police Officer Sentenced for Law Enforcement Information Network Violation
Mount Clemens, MI - Today, 36-year-old former Clinton Township police officer John Hreno pled guilty to Unauthorized Disclosure of the Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN), a 93-day misdemeanor and was sentenced.
An audit by the Michigan State Police concluded that on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, Clinton Township Police Officer John Hreno ran a license plate into LEIN that was never a focus of investigation by the Clinton Township Police Department and there was no valid law enforcement reason to run the license plate.
Hreno was charged and pleaded guilty to Unauthorized Disclosure of LEIN Information. Today, 41B Clinton Township District Court Judge Jacomb Femminineo, Jr. sentenced Hreno to two years probation, 25 hours of community service, and to attend the Death Museum.
"In our pursuit of justice, no one is above the law, not even those entrusted to enforce it," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
