Mount Clemens, MI -  A 51-year-old man has been arraigned for failing to pay spousal support for his former wife.  After a thorough investigation, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office determined that the man has the ability to pay but chose not to cooperate with our office on payment options.

On Monday, October 17, 2022, Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Switalski ordered Mark Parker to pay spousal support. After failing to comply with the court’s order and accruing over $33,000 in spousal support arrearages, the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged Parker with felony nonsupport, a four-year felony.

On Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Parker was arraigned in the 41B District Court in Clinton Township before Magistrate Ryan Zemke, who set the bond at $8,472. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 1:00 pm in front of District Court Judge Carrie Fuca.

"This defendant has repeatedly failed to meet his legal and financial obligations, showing blatant disregard for the court's orders and the well-being of his former spouse. Our office takes these matters seriously, and we will pursue accountability to ensure justice is served," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Family Division of the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office oversees felony nonsupport cases where arrears exceed $5,000, payments have not been made for three consecutive months, and there is evidence that the payor has the financial means to pay. The division’s primary goal is to secure financial support while ensuring justice is served.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the People. We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
