Ex-Boyfriend of Missing Warren Woman Arraigned for Lying to Police in a Violent Crime Investigation

Mount Clemens, MI - A Roseville man has been charged and arraigned for lying to police officers in connection with his missing ex-girlfriend.
It is alleged that from January 4, 2025-January 7, 2025, Deandre Howard Booker, age 32, repeatedly lied to police officers and willfully provided false and misleading information in the investigation into the disappearance of Ashley Lashay Elkins. This investigation is ongoing. Booker was charged with Lying to a Police Officer During a Violent Crime Investigation, a four year felony.
Today, Booker was arraigned in Roseville District Court where District Court Judge Alyia Hakim set bond at $250,000.00 cash/surety only. If bond is posted, Booker must wear a steel GPS tether. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 8:30am via Zoom and a Preliminary Exam is scheduled for January 29, 2025 at 8:30am in person by District Court Judge Joseph Boedeker.
"Our hearts go out to the family of the missing woman during this difficult time. Providing false information to law enforcement in a case like this not only hinders the investigation but adds further pain and uncertainty for the loved ones searching for answers. We remain committed to seeking justice and ensuring that every effort is made to bring resolution to this case," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the People. We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
