Eastpointe Man Found Guilty of Shooting His Stepson by Macomb County Jury

Mount Clemens, MI - A 64-year-old Eastpointe man has been found guilty by a Macomb County jury in connection with the shooting of his wife’s son after a five-day jury trial by Macomb County Assistant Prosecutor Elizabeth Abbo.
On December 22, 2023, Johnny Domingo Walker shot his 51-year-old stepson multiple times. As his wife fled the house, Walker chased after her, pointing the gun at her, and attempting to pull her back to the house. Before he could do so, police arrived, prompting Walker to retreat into the house. Officers were able to enter, rescue the wounded stepson, and eventually take Walker into custody. The stepson survived the shooting.
Walker was found guilty of the following:
- Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a five-year felony
- Possession of Ammunition by a Felony, a five-year felony
- Felony Firearm, a mandatory two-year felony
- Felony Firearm, a mandatory two-year felony
- Felony Firearm, a mandatory two-year felony
- Felony Firearm, a mandatory two-year felony
- Assaulting/Resisting/Obstructing a Police Officer, a two-year felony
Walker was also charged and found guilty of being a habitual fourth offender.
"I am grateful to the Eastpointe Police Department for their swift response, which undoubtedly saved lives that day. We also appreciate the jury’s time and dedication in delivering justice in this case," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
Walked is scheduled to be sentenced by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Kathryn Viviano on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 8:30 am.
