Mount Clemens, MI - Kenate Moore, age 46, has been arraigned for failing to pay child support on his minor child.

Moore was ordered by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge John Foster in March 2008 to pay $296.00 per month in child support for his minor child.  The child custody amount was lowered in 2011 to $276.00 per month, again in 2012 to $93.00 per month, then increased to $144.00 in 2018.  His last payment was in November 2023 and he allegedly owes more than $10,000 in back child support.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Moore with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four year felony, after the Macomb County Friend of the Court exhausted their efforts to enforce the court order of paying child support. Moore has had ten show cause hearings and five bench warrants issued.

Kenate Moore was arraigned on Monday, July 22, 2024 in 41B District Court by Magistrate Ryan Zemke who set bond at $2,641.00.  A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Monday, August 5, 2024 at 8:30 am by District Court Judge Jacob Femminineo, Jr.

“We are sending a clear message: parents have a legal and moral obligation to support their children. Failing to do so not only neglects the needs of the child but also violates the law. We will continue to hold accountable those who avoid their responsibilities," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the People.  We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
