Mount Clemens, MI - Jamal Cunningham, age 34, has been arraigned for failing to pay child support on his minor child.

On Tuesday, September 25, 2007, Jamal Cunningham was ordered by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Teri Lynn Dennings to pay $62.00 per month in child support for his minor child.  His child support was modified in 2011 to $299 per month, in 2018 to $461.00 per month, and in 2022 to $108 per month.  He allegedly owes $10,302.09 in back child support for his child.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Jamal Cunningham with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four year felony, after the Macomb County Friend of the Court exhausted their efforts to enforce the court order of paying child support. Cunningham has had 12 show cause hearings and three bench warrants issued in this case.

Jamal Cunningham was arraigned on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 in 41B Clinton Township District Court by Magistrate Ryan Zemke where bond was set at $2,658.   A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 8:30am by District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido.

"When someone fails to provide the necessary child support, it has a profound impact on the well-being and stability of the child and their family. Our office is committed to holding individuals accountable when they disregard their obligations. We will pursue charges to make it clear that we stand with families and will work to ensure that children receive the support they are legally entitled to," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
