Mount Clemens, MI - Richard Reid, age 38, was bound over yesterday to Macomb County Circuit Court for owing thousands in unpaid child support.

It is alleged that from March 17, 2017 to present, Richard Reid has failed to pay child support.  The Macomb County Friend of the Court exhausted their efforts to enforce the court order of paying child support.  The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Reid with Failing to Pay Child Support, a four year felony.

Reid was arraigned on Friday, June 7, 2024 in Clinton Township 41B District Court where Magistrate Zemke set bond at $3,737.00.  Reid still owes $14,949,37 in back child support.

A Probable Cause Hearing was held yesterday, and Ried was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court by Clinton Township District Court Judge Sebastian Lucido. A Macomb County Circuit Court arraignment date has not been set at this time.

“We are committed to making sure Macomb County children are taken care of and all parents take financial responsibility for caring for their child," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office represents the people.  We are committed to achieving justice and following the laws of the State of Michigan. All that are accused of a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
