Deandre Booker Arraigned on First Degree Murder and Other Charges in Ashley Elkins Case

Mount Clemens, MI - The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has brought additional charges against Deandre Howard Booker in connection with the disappearance of Ashley Lashay Elkins.
Booker was charged with First Degree Murder - Premeditated, a life felony, Tampering with Evidence, a ten-year felony, Dead Body - Disinterment and Mutilation, a ten-year felony, and Concealing the Death of an Individual, a five-year felony. He was arraigned in Roseville District Court where District Court Judge Alyia Hakim denied bond. Booker was previously arraigned on Thursday, January 9, 2025, for Lying to a Police Officer During a Violent Crime Investigation, a four-year felony. He remains in the Macomb County Jail. A Probable Cause hearing is scheduled for February 5, 2025, at 8:30 am by District Court Judge Joseph Boedeker.
On Thursday, January 2, 2025, Ashley Elkins went to Booker’s residence in Roseville. After a thorough investigation by the Roseville Police Department, it is alleged that Booker killed Elkins while she was at his apartment and disposed of her body.
"Our hearts are with Ashley’s family as they endure this unimaginable pain, and we remain committed to seeking justice for them and our community. No one should suffer such a loss, and we will do everything in our power to ensure accountability," said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
