Mount Clemens, MI - A 34-year-old man was arraigned in connection with the torture and imprisonment of a woman over a drug debt.

It is alleged that from November 2023 to April 2024, Darren John Dawson held a woman against her will and kept her in a closet in his Clinton Township apartment. During this time Dawson allegedly tortured the 58-year-old victim and stole her Social Security money and food stamps.

Darren John Dawson was arraigned in 41B District Court where Magistrate Ryan Zemke set bond at $1 Million cash/surety, no 10%. If released Dawson is to wear a GPS tether, have no contact with the victim and no firearms. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 8:30 am by District Court Judge Jacob Femminineo, Jr.
