Chesterfield Man Arraigned on Child Porn Charges

A 43-year-old Chesterfield man has been arraigned in connection with possession of child porn.

Chesterfield Man Arraigned on Child Porn Charges

Mount Clemens, MI - A 43-year-old Chesterfield man has been arraigned in connection with possession of child porn.

It is alleged that between February 23, 2024 and February 27, 2024, Joshua Allen Mathes received and shared child porn on online message boards and websites.  Mathes was charged with the following:

Count 1:  Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material, ten year felony
Count 2:  Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material, ten year felony
Count 3:  Aggravated Possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material, ten year felony
Count 4:  Using a Computer to Commit a Crime with Maximum Prisonment of Ten Years, a 10 year felony
Count 5:  Using a Computer to Commit a Crime with Maximum Prisonment of Ten Years, a 10 year felony
Count 6:  Using a Computer to Commit a Crime with Maximum Prisonment of Ten Years, a 10 year felony

Mathes was arraigned in 42-2 New Baltimore District Court where Magistrate Joseph Cozzolino set bond at $10,000 cash/surety.  Upon release the defendant is to have no access to the internet and no contact with anyone under the age of 18.  A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, November 6, 2024 by District Court Judge William Hackel III.

We will work tirelessly to hold accountable those who use online platforms to perpetuate abuse and ensure a safer future for our children,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
