Charges Amended for Clinton Township Man Who Allegedly Shot his Mother and Brother
Mount Clemens, MI - The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has amended the charges against Corey Deyshaun Cook who allegedly shot his mother and brother.
It is alleged that on Friday, July, 5, 2024 Corey Deyshaun Cook, age 24, shot his 49-year-old mother Yolanda Cook and his 27-year-old brother, Arkollin Dleon Cook in their home. Yolanda Cook was pronounced dead at the scene. Arkollin Dleon Cook was at a nearby hospital on life support where he recently passed away.
Originally, Corey Deyshaun Cook was charged with First Degree Premeditated Murder, a life without parole felony, two counts of Felony Firearm, two year mandatory felonies, and Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony.
Due to his brother's death, charges against Corey Deyshaun Cook have been amended to two counts of First Degree Premeditated Murder, life without parole felonies, and two counts of Felony Firearm, two year mandatory felonies. Cook remains in the Macomb County Jail on a $1 million bond. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Monday, July 22, 2024 at 1:00pm by District Court Judge Carrie Fuca.
"The charges were amended to take into consideration the death of his brother," stated Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido. "Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones affected by this tragedy."
