A Detroit man was arraigned in connection with two shootings in Eastpointe.

$2 Million Bond Set for Eastpointe Shooter

Mount Clemens, MI -  A Detroit man was arraigned in connection with two shootings in Eastpointe.

It is alleged that on Friday, January 3, 2025, Shawn Davidson drove to his ex-girlfriend’s boyfriend's apartment.  Davidson waited for the victim to come home and shot him in the chest outside of the victim’s vehicle.  Eastpointe Police Officers executed a search warrant on Davidson’s residence.  While the five officers were at the front door, Davidson shot through the front door at the officers. The victim is recovering at a local hospital and is expected to make a full recovery.

Davidson, age 53, was charged with the following:

Count 1: Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony
Count 2:  Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony
Count 3:  Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony
Count 4:  Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony
Count 5:  Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony
Count 6:  Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony
Count 7:  Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony
Count 8:  Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony
Count 9:  Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony
Count 10:  Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony
Count 11:  Assault with Intent to Murder, a life felony
Count 12:  Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony
Count 13:  Discharge of a Firearm in a Building, a ten year felony
Count 14:  Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony
Count 15:  Tampering with Evidence in a Criminal Case, a ten year felony
Count 16: Carrying a Dangerous Weapon with Unlawful Intent, a five year felony
Count 17:  Felony Firearm, a two year mandatory felony
Count 18:  Carrying a Concealed Weapon, a five year felony

Davidson was arraigned in Eastpointe District Court where District Court Magistrate Mark Makoski set bond at $2 million cash/surety.  If released, Davidson is not to leave the state of Michigan, have no drugs or alcohol, wear a steel cuff GPS tether with home confinement, no weapons or firearms and no contact with the victim or witnesses. A Probable Cause Hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 1:00pm and a Preliminary Exam is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 1:00pm by District Court Judge Kathleen Galen.
