Judge Sara A. Schimke

Judge Sara A. Schimke was appointed to the Macomb County Probate Court bench in April 2022 by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.  Prior to her appointment, Judge Schimke devoted her career to private practice for the firms of Chalgian & Tripp, PLLC, Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer & Weiss, P.C., and Barron, Rosenburg, Mayoras & Mayoras, P.C.  Judge Schimke’s practice focused on probate law, estate planning and advocacy.  In addition, Judge Schimke has previously served as an adjunct professor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

Judge Schimke is a Macomb County resident who has received a Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Michigan University and a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.  Judge Schimke has been active in the community as a board member of the Michigan Parkinson’s Foundation, a member of the Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s (ICLE) Elder Law Advisory Planning Committee, and as a past chair of the State Bar Elder Law & Disability Rights Section.
