Macomb Community Action, in partnership with Michigan State University Extension are pleased to announce their annual 2026 Show Me the Money Day – Saturday, April 11 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Robert A. VerKuilen Building located at 21885 Dunham Road in Clinton Township.
All community members are welcome to participate in this free, in-person educational event that features free and low-cost financial assistance materials and financial literacy workshops. All workshops are intended to provide attendees real-world advice that will have a direct, positive effect on their personal finances. Financial workshops scheduled to be offered at this year’s event include:
- Navigating Michigan Works
- Weatherization and Energy Education
- First Time Homebuyer
- Budgeting, Saving, and Debt Relief
- Let’s Talk Credit
In addition, 10 vendors will be on-hand to provide attendees information on a variety of personal finance topics.
“Financial literacy is about more than managing money—it’s about opening doors to opportunity and building confidence for the future,” said Andrew Cox, Director and Health Officer of Macomb County Health and Community Services. “When we invest in financial education today, we help create stronger families and more resilient communities tomorrow.”
“We host this event each year to help people build practical financial skills that can make a real difference for them and their families,” said Edward Scott, Director of Macomb Community Action. “Individuals and families of all ages are welcome to attend and hear from experts who can share strategies for making the most of their hard-earned money.”
