Community Food Bank of Macomb County receives generous $15,000 donation from First Merchants Bank

The Community Food Bank of Macomb is pleased to announce a generous donation of $15,000 from First Merchants Bank. The donation will be used to help stock pantry shelves at the Community Food Bank of Macomb’s network of 56 pantries and hunger relief organizations in Macomb County.

“This generous donation from First Merchants Bank is a great example of the power of community partnerships in addressing critical needs,” said Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel. “With this support, the Community Food Bank of Macomb and its partners can continue this important work of providing food and hope to our neighbors.”

“Our vision is to enhance the financial wellness of the diverse communities we serve. Helping our communities prosper is more than a responsibility. It is our passion. For us, social impact isn’t a campaign or a movement—it’s part of who we are. It’s the foundation of our organization, and it permeates every part of our business,” said Terri Cable, Michigan President of First Merchants Bank.

The Community Food Bank of Macomb and its network of over 56 pantries and hunger relief organizations provide immediate relief to those in need of food. The program supplies food at no cost so that families and individuals can have “no strings attached” access to the food they need. In 2024, this network has served over 2,921,000 pounds of food to over 148,000 households.

“The timing of this incredibly generous donation couldn’t be better,” said Ed Scott, Director of Macomb Community Action. “As we head into the holiday season, we’re seeing increased demand for food at all of our partner pantries. This donation will go a long way in helping get much-needed food to those who need it.”
