Macomb County Animal Control is offering its first ever sponsored, pre-registered Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) clinic for outdoor MALE community/feral cats. Space is limited to 20 male cats (one per address) — please read eligibility and instructions carefully.
What’s included

- FVRCP vaccine and Rabies vaccine
- Mandatory left ear-tip to identify sterilized cats
- Same-day recovery and return to caretakers
Eligibility / rules (please read)
- Pre-registration required. Clinic limited to 20 male community cats.
- One male cat per address.
- Cats must be trapped within Macomb County.
(This clinic does NOT accept cats trapped in Eastpointe, Mount Clemens, Sterling Heights, or Warren.) - Cats must be at least 3 months old and appear healthy at drop-off.
- Not for owned/pet cats. This clinic is only for community / feral cats.
- Cats must be transported in humane live traps. Traps must be covered during transport and while at the clinic.
- Caretaker (presenting person) must be prepared to sign required TNR consent and liability waiver.
Day-of schedule
- Drop-off: Saturday, October 11 between 8:00 – 9:00 AM at Macomb County Animal Control.
- Pick-up/return: Same day between 3:00 – 4:00 PM.
Cats will be returned to caretakers. It is recommended that the cat is kept in the trap/cage for 12-24 hours in a quiet, safe place before releasing them to their original location. - Please arrive on time — late arrivals may not be accepted.
How to register

What to bring / day-of checklist
- Humane live trap containing the cat (trap must be secure and covered).
- A lightweight blanket or towel to cover the trap.
- Photo ID and proof of address.
- Willingness to sign consent and release forms at drop-off.
Important notes for caretakers
- Plan to keep the cat confined in the trap/cage until it is stable and ready for release — staff will advise at pick-up.
- Normal post-op signs: grogginess, mild disorientation, reduced appetite for 12–24 hours. Serious signs (heavy bleeding, difficulty breathing, repeated vomiting, inability to wake) require immediate veterinary attention.
- The left ear will be tipped to mark the cat as sterilized. This is standard practice for managed colonies.
- Monetary donations are appreciated — donations help cover costs and allow the program to serve more community cats.
