GOV. WHITMER APPOINTS TANYA GRILLO TO 16TH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT COURT BENCH
Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced the appointment of Tanya Grillo, of St. Clair Shores, as Circuit Court Judge in the 16th Judicial Circuit Court. She will be filling the vacancy created by Judge Diane Druzinski’s retirement and filling a partial term to expire on January 1, 2027.
Tanya Grillo is a practicing attorney, serves as managed assigned counsel coordinator for the City of Southfield, an administrative hearings officer for the City of Mount Clemens and is the president of the Women’s Lawyers Association of Michigan’s Executive Board. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in political science from the University of Central Florida and a Juris Doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School.
Chief Judge Biernat says, “I worked directly with Tanya during the development of MIDC and the Defenders Office in Macomb County. Her passion for the law and public service was a guiding force throughout the completion of that project. Her professional experience will be an asset to the Macomb County bench. I look forward to working with her.”
