Food Safety    

Cottage Food Law Certificate Available Online

The 2013 on-line cottage food law training and evaluation has been updated and can be found  at: http://msue.anr.msu.edu/programs/cottage_foods_law  People completing the program will receive a certificate for their farmer's market booth.  For more information contact MSUE Educator Eileen Haraminac at haramin2@anr.msu.edu or 313-567-9701 ext. 104.


Emotional Health

New workshop module for RELAX Alternatives to Anger targets Parents and Caregivers

 

A one-time workshop for parents and caregivers of children has been added to the MSUE RELAX Alternatives to Anger program. The workshop explores the five RELAX concepts with adults who live and work with children who are in the process of developing the social emotional skills needed to deal with stress, anger and strong emotion. A strong literacy component assists participants in exploring unique ways they can address anger and strong emotion with children in their care. Health ServicesNUTRITION EDUCATION AND SERVICES: Our programs are FREE and based on income. Topics covered:  Choose My Plate, Label Reading, Heart Health, and Food Safety. Nutrition Services programs provide information and classes to educate the public on the importance of a healthy diet, proper eating habits and safe food preparation. This includes the Expanded Food & Nutrition Program and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. Click here for more information.

 


DIABETES-PATH: This is a six-week workshop that helps people with diabetes and their caregivers learn ways to manage living with diabetes.   Call 586-469-5816 for more information.


HOME FORECLOSURE ASSISTANCE:  The foreclosure process begins after three home payments in a row are missed.  If you have missed a home payment or think you might soon, learn about your options from an unbiased source.  You may be able to save your house or manage the foreclosure so that starting over is less difficult.Click here for more information.
