Suspect apprehended in domestic violence assault

Mount Clemens, MI – On January 3, 2024, Macomb County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies were dispatched to Stony Creek Apartments in Washington Township for an alleged Domestic Violence Assault. The suspect, a 31-year-old male from Washington Township, refused to exit the apartment. 

 

The victim reported that her roommate/friend assaulted her in the evening of January 2, 2024. Additionally, he handcuffed her and demanded she remain in his bed all night. The assault continued January 3, 2024, where the suspect also threatened the victim with a handgun. 

 

The victim escaped the apartment around 4:00PM. A good Samaritan and the victim were able to call for help. 

 

Deputies arrived and attempted contact with the suspect, but he refused to come out of the apartment. The suspect is believed to have secured the door from inside the apartment. The Sheriff’s Enforcement Team (SET) Detectives responded to the area to assist. They eventually observed the suspect exiting the apartment at approximately 5:00PM. 

 

The suspect fled on foot and resisted arrest. He was tased to gain compliance. The suspect was taken into custody and an unregistered handgun was found on his person. The suspect was transported to the Macomb County Jail, where he remains housed. 

 

The suspect is expected to be arraigned tomorrow afternoon.
