MCSO Deputies apprehend suspect in stabbing

Mount Clemens, MI – On 2/27/24, at approximately 10:37PM, Macomb County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputies were dispatched to the area of Jones Street and Park Street in Mount Clemens for a report of an alleged theft and stabbing. The suspect, a 37-year-old male from Mount Clemens, was apprehended.


The victim and suspect met through mutual friends in 2023. The suspect invited the victim to “hang out” on Tuesday evening. When the victim arrived to meet the suspect, he attempted to rob the victim. Due to their friendship, the victim initially thought the suspect was joking. The victim fought to prevent the suspect from stealing her bag. While they struggled, the suspect stabbed the victim at least seven times. The suspect then fled the scene.


The victim, a 41-year-old female from Clinton Township, was transported to a local hospital for medical care. She is in stable condition with non-life-threatening issues.


The suspect was located and taken into custody. He appeared to be highly intoxicated. He is currently lodged at the Macomb County Jail.
