Clinton Township Man Allegedly Shoots His Neighbor

A 32-year-old Clinton Township man was arraigned in connection with an altercation with his neighbor.

Mount Clemens, MI -  A 32-year-old Clinton Township man was arraigned in connection with an altercation with his neighbor.

It is alleged that on Thursday, April 25, 2024, Steven Cole thought his neighbor had contact with Cole’s girlfriend.  Cole allegedly confronted his neighbor in the parking lot of their apartment complex and shot the victim twice.  The victim is expected to make a full recovery.

Steven Cole was charged with Assault with Intent to Murder (life felony), two counts Felony Firearm (2 year mandatory felonies), Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person (five year felony.)  He is also being charged as a habitual fourth offender.

Today, Cole was arraigned in 41B Clinton Township District Court by Magistrate Ryan Zemke where bond was set at $250,000 cash/surety, no 10%.  The defendant is not to have contact with the victim or anyone associated with the case. If released, Cole is to wear a steel GPS tether, and have no drugs, alcohol, or weapons.  A Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 8:30am by District Court Judge Jacob Femminineo, Jr. via Zoom.
