The Macomb County Health Department is an authorized provider of the COVID-19 vaccine. Working under strict guidelines issued by the CDC and Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), residents can be assured that the vaccine is being properly stored, administered and available for all who are eligible to receive it.
Insurance and the cost of vaccines
MCHD can bill some commercial insurances for COVID-19 vaccines. Please contact one of our health centers to check if MCHD is a provider for your commercial insurance.
Individuals who do no have insurance or have a health plan that does not cover the cost of a COVID-19 vaccine may be able to receive the vaccine for the cost of the administration fee ($10). This option is based on the availability of vaccines allocated to the MCHD from the state of Michigan. Please contact one of our health centers to check on vaccine availability prior to making an appointment.
